The Kaplan University Library is brought to you through the partnership of Kaplan Higher Education and the UAH Salmon Library at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Kaplan University students have access to a complete assortment of library services, and enjoy full borrowing privileges online through UAH. You have access to a growing collection that includes over 600,000 volumes and 3,000 periodicals.
The Kaplan Library PowerPoint presentation under Course Home (on the left side of this screen) uses screenshots to demonstrate what resources are available at the online library, and how to access them. It also will walk you through a sample search. Please view the presentation.
Our Unit 1 Discussion asks you to find an article from the Kaplan Library. Select the Business Source Premier database from the list of electronic article databases and then search for It's Not Just What You Say by Jonathan Hershberg. You can find this article by searching the database with the words just what you say. These directions are also included in the Discussion area of Unit 1.
Microsoft Word is a word processing program that is a part of Microsoft Office software package. It should not be confused with Microsoft Works, Word Perfect, Word Pad, or Corel, all of which are different word processing programs. Microsoft Word is required for all Kaplan University students and faculty.
Click here for a tutorial on how to use Microsoft Word. This tutorial covers essential skills such as setting margins, line spacing, creating headers, and using the comment tool.
Note: Now that you have read through the unit's materials, you may also want to view the corresponding unit in Maggie's Journey. The link is located under Course Home.
