Lab Module C: Carbon Dioxide — Lab 6. Car Exhaust

Unit Sections

Welcome to the Car Exhaust Lab!

We will continue in this unit to learn about the impact of carbon dioxide, but we'll now focus on the emissions of motor vehicles. Most of us have taken advantage of the motor vehicle for a lifetime without thinking of the consequences of burning fossil fuels. Riding in a car, truck or bus is such an every day part of life, it's hard to imagine that something so commonplace is rapidly damaging the environment. Don't we have catalytic converters and advanced automotive electronics now to take care of that problem for us? Let's look into the background a bit before we plunge into our lab procedure. Read on!
