- Write out all words (type "you" instead of "u") and use appropriate capitalizations.
- Always capitalize the pronoun I.
- Explain yourself clearly.
- Do not use smileys (also called emoticons) in professional writing.
- Avoid acronyms. Not everyone will know what the acronyms mean and this can block the flow of communication. For example, not everyone knows what ROTFL (Rolling on the Floor Laughing) means.
Do not use all capital letters when you type. All capitals is considered SHOUTING!
