In this unit, you will examine the factors that facilitate or interfere with normal growth and development of individuals at each stage of life. You will also specify the physical and psychosocial health concerns of infants, children, adolescents, and adults.
- Compare and contrast significant theories of growth and development
- Describe the importance of incorporating theories of growth and development in assessing and planning nursing care for individuals
- Discuss assessment strategies to detect delayed growth and development and to promote health maintenance
- Describe environmental, socioeconomic, nutritional, and physiological factors affecting growth and development from infancy through old age
- Demonstrate competency in the basic skills that have been performed in Units 1-6
